How we did the level design for Drop Dash!
For the different level design of our game, we first made sure how we want each level to develop. We want each level to be harder. Since we didn't have a tutorial level, we want the player to learn how to play by exploring the game on their own. So we made sure that the first dew levels were very simple and easy. Since this is a strategy game, we had an idea in mind that the game would introduce different barriers through levels. To make the levels develop more, we also increased the percent of successful drops player needs to get in the bucket, by decreasing the drop number they could use for trying.
After we were sure of what we wanted to do, we first sketched out the level designs on paper.
When we decided the settings in each level, we then created them in game maker.
